Depew Families,
I am thrilled to be in the position of Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel. I have a true passion for Curriculum and can’t wait to get started on this important work. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from St. Bonaventure University, my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading from Buffalo State College, and my School Building Administrator and School District Administrator Degrees from St. Bonaventure University.
I am very dedicated to this district as my family has deep roots in Depew. My father, my husband, my son and I are all alumni of Depew. My daughter is currently a student at DHS. I have also had the privilege of serving the district since 1998 as a Kindergarten Teacher, Second Grade Teacher, Literacy Coach/Dean of Students, Elementary Assistant Principal, and Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment.
My plans for this school year include work with our literacy curriculum, training staff in the Science of Reading, the upcoming Blue Ribbon Commission’s transformations for graduation, solidifying our Portrait of a Graduate, and infusing Artificial Intelligence into all curricular areas. I am also excited to collaborate with families in order to encourage more student/family engagement. Finally, as a result of our district’s work with the Stronger Connections Grant, we look forward to the unveiling of our Family Solutions Center.
I wish all of you the best school year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Rebecca Fatta
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel
