Board of Education President Todd Bush has announced the new interim superintendent for Depew UFSD.

Retired superintendent, Dr. Jeff Rabey, will take on the role of interim on Monday, August 12. Dr. Rabey was superintendent of the District for 12 years, and most recently served as interim superintendent in the West Seneca School District.

Dr. Douglas Whelan has been serving as the interim superintendent since January 1, filling the vacancy left by Dr. Hank Stopinski, who resigned from the District for purposes of retirement.

“We thank Dr. Whelan for helping lead the district through the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year and into the new school year,” Bush said. “We look forward to working again with Dr. Rabey, whose expertise and knowledge of the district will be an asset to the Depew community.”

More information on the search for a permanent superintendent will be released in the coming weeks.
